We were absolutely stoked a couple of years ago when Jeep announced it would be adding a midsize pickup truck to its available lineup, then we got even more excited when the Gladiator was actually unveiled. The Jeep Gladiator nameplate was originally utilized from 1962 through 1971, but the Gladiator of today is a far cry from that original pickup truck. The new front-engine, four-wheel-drive pickup offers everything enthusiasts and fans have come to expect from vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler with the added benefit of a truck bed and all the benefits that come with being a pickup. The newest iteration of the truck, the 2021 Jeep Gladiator, is available now right here at Cecil Atkission in Burnet!
There is so much to be excited about when it comes to the 2021 Jeep Gladiator, but let’s focus on its capabilities first and foremost. Beneath the hood of the Gladiator rests one of two different powertrain options. The standard engine found in the Gladiator is a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine, which is capable of generating 285 horsepower alongside 260 pound-feet of torque. When equipped with this powertrain, the Jeep Gladiator is capable of hauling up to 1,700 pounds in its bed and an additional 7,650 lbs. through conventional towing.
The second engine option is a 3.0L EcoDiesel turbocharged V6. This option gives up a bit of horsepower for a huge increase in torque, as it’s able to generate 260 hp alongside a best-in-class 442 lb-ft. of torque. The EcoDiesel does drop the truck’s capabilities a bit as well, as it can only haul up to 1,200 lbs. in the bed and up to just 6,500 lbs. by trailering.
Beyond its powertrain, the 2021 Jeep Gladiator is packed full of incredible features and impressive specifications. We’re thrilled to be able to offer this vehicle here at Cecil Motors. If you’d like to learn more about the truck, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us right here at the sales desk!
